Our Approach

Childhood is not simply a time to prepare for the future; it is a valuable stage of life in its own right.

At Mor Kanguru Preschool, every step we take, every decision we make, and every experience we create is shaped by this belief. Our priority is not to constantly prepare children for what comes next, but to give them the freedom to experience the childhood they are living now with a sense of safety, curiosity, and joy.

Every child comes into the world with a natural desire to learn. They wonder, explore, try, make mistakes, and try again. Our role is not to direct this natural drive to learn, but to create an environment that protects, supports, and enriches it.

A Child-Centered Approach

Every child has their own pace of development, interests, strengths, and individual needs. Rather than expecting children to fit into predetermined patterns, we support each child along their own unique developmental journey.

For us, success means helping every child discover their own potential, feel safe and secure, develop confidence, and find joy in learning.

Play Is the Most Natural Way to Learn

At Mor Kanguru Preschool, play is at the heart of childhood and learning. Through play, children imagine, create, communicate, solve problems, make choices, and discover the world around them.

For us, play is not a break from learning, an activity saved for the end of the day, or a reward. Play is how children learn.

That’s why we create environments where children are free to follow their curiosity, express their ideas, explore possibilities, and take an active role in their experiences.

Rather than directing every moment, we make space for discovery—allowing learning to emerge naturally through play, meaningful experiences, and everyday life.

Nature Is One of Our Greatest Learning Environments

At Mor Kanguru Preschool, nature is not something children simply learn about—it is something they experience every day.

Nature invites children to observe, explore, be patient, assess risks, and discover the rhythms and cycles of life. That’s why outdoor time is much more than a break in the day. Our garden, outdoor learning spaces, and nature-based experiences are an essential part of everyday life.

Children touch the soil, observe the changing seasons, grow and care for plants, experience different weather conditions, and build a meaningful connection with the natural world.

We believe that growing up close to nature gives children valuable opportunities to become curious, responsible, and caring individuals who understand that they are part of the world around them.

English Is Part of Everyday Life

At Mor Kanguru Preschool, English is not a subject taught only at certain times of the day. It is a natural part of everyday life.

Children experience and use English while they play, share meals, explore the garden, read stories, build friendships, and move through their daily routines.

We believe that language is best acquired through meaningful, real-life communication. That’s why we create a rich and natural English-speaking environment where children can listen, understand, communicate, and gradually express themselves with confidence.

English is not something children simply study at Mor Kanguru—it is something they experience, naturally, every day.

Secure Relationships Are the Foundation of Learning

Before children can truly learn and explore, they need to feel safe, valued, and understood.

At Mor Kanguru Preschool, our teachers build meaningful relationships with children based on trust, respect, and genuine connection. We create an inclusive environment where children feel comfortable expressing their emotions, sharing their ideas, making mistakes, and being themselves.

We want every child to feel that they belong, that their voice matters, and that there is always a trusted adult beside them when they need support.

Because when children feel safe, they find the confidence to explore, discover, and grow.

We Share the Journey with Families

A child’s development is shaped not only by the environment they grow in, but also by the relationships that surround them.

At Mor Kanguru Preschool, we believe that families and educators are partners in a child’s journey. That’s why we build open, honest, and trusting relationships with families—sharing observations, following each child’s development together, and thoughtfully responding to their individual needs.

For us, families are not simply part of our preschool community. They are an essential part of each child’s journey.

So, What Educational Approach Do We Follow?

This is one of the questions we are asked most often.

At Mor Kanguru Preschool, we do not follow a single educational model or philosophy exactly as prescribed. We believe that different approaches to early childhood education offer valuable perspectives, and what matters most is understanding how these ideas can meaningfully support each child’s developmental needs.

Our approach places play-based learning at its heart, while drawing inspiration from the curiosity-driven learning environments of Reggio Emilia, Montessori’s emphasis on respect for the child and independence, HighScope’s principle of active participation, and the rich outdoor experiences offered by nature-based learning.

But for us, no single approach is the goal in itself.

Our goal is to create a child-centered, flexible, holistic, and evidence-informed environment where children can learn, grow, explore, and simply be children.

That is why we continually ask ourselves one essential question:

“Does this experience support the child’s curiosity, well-being, development, and desire to learn?”

If the answer is yes, we believe there is something valuable for us to embrace.

Because at Mor Kanguru, we do not shape children to fit a method. We use methods to respond to the needs of children.

That is the heart of the Mor Kanguru Preschool approach.
